Thursday, March 02, 2006 Welcome Ankie, haha nice to see your poking around over here too =P Anyways it's almost 3am, and I'm not tired...why!!! ahhh anywho I got some cool stuff to share with you all that I learned today at ACF, more "wow" stuff and just crazy good stuff! soo today's topic was "Names of God" and there are 8 "names" or personalities that describe out God! soo here's the run down with verses to back up and yeah a little surprise or two at the end! Get your Bibles ready! 1. Jehovah - Rohei = The Lord is my Shepherd Verse: Psalms 23 (we'll come back to this later so put a bookmark there) - Like a shepherd who watches and guards his sheep, God is our guard and watches out for us! 2. Jehovah - Jireh = The Lord is my Provider Verse: Genesis 22:10-14 - When Abraham was about to sacrifice his only Son, God provided a Ram to replace his Son, because Abraham was so faithful! *NOTE that this was the same mountain that Jesus died on =O you see God providing his Son to save our sins, and God providing his Son as an offering see the parallel?? =O!!! 3. Jehovah - Rapha - The Lord is my Healer Verse: Exodus 15:22-26 - When Moses lead his people outta Egypt and they were thirsty and the water was bitter, God told Moses to throw a branch there and it became sweet, and near the end verse 26 it states "..for I am the Lord, who heals you" 4. Jehovah - Nissi = The Lord is my Banner Verse: Well Joy forgot where it was but the it was the story where Moses had to lift his hands up above the battle, and when his staff was up the Isrealites were winning and when his arms fell they were losing. The Staff - God's Power (banner) - The Lord is our Banner and we will be victories with him on our side! 5. Jehovah - M'Kaddesh = The Lord is my Holiness Verse: Leviticus 20:7-8 - the "M" stands for Maker, as in God is the make of holiness aka he sanctifies us to be more holy and close to being "christ like" Christians! hehe 6. Jehovah - Shalom - The Lord my Peace Verse: Judges 6:12-24 - The story of Gideon who was a man with not much confidence and he was unsure of himself and God gave him a sign and he built an alter stating "The Lord is Peace" 7. Jehovah - Tsidkeny = The Lord is my Righteousness Verse: Jeremiah 23:5-6 - Umm go read the verse haha 8. Jehovah - Shamah - The Lord is Presence Verse: Ezekiel 48:15 - "The Lord is There" as in he's always there for us no matter what! Alrite if you turn back to Psalms 23, David actually writes out all of these characteristics of God =O observe, I hope I got this right...
